Monument for memory of biggest air crash in the history of aviation

Monument for memory of biggest air crash in the history of aviation. 583 people dead in the Tenerife Los Rodeos airport 27th of March, 1977 when landing Pan American from New York and taking off KLM to Amsterdam hit each other face to face on the runway. The monument and the territory around is not in the best conditions and it looks nobody take care of that. I made this photo during the private shore tour in Tenerife with former workers of Pan American from Florida and New York, as they heard about the monument and wanted to visit it during the short island tour. Finally we found the monument some 17 kilometres from the Tenerife Los Rodeos Airport on the Monte Mesa (Mount Mesa) on the northern border of San Cristobal de La Laguna near to Las Mercedes and Anaga Mountains. I think somebody should be responsible to take care of the monument, maybe Tenerife Los Rodeos Airport, as it took place there. Looks they just try to forget that – just business and nothing more… it is sad.
